Charity of the Year
It is always a great boost when organisations and establishments choose to back the charity and we are delighted that both Borth Golf Club and Ceredigion Training have named the Beacon of Hope as their Charity of the year for 2010.
Also Morrisons have chosen Help the Hospices as their Charity of the year and the Beacon of Hope has been twinned with the Aberystwyth Morrisons store.
All will be holding fundraising events throughout the year for us.
Awards
The Beacon of Hope was delighted to be chosen as Ceredigion Charity of the Year - the announcement was made at a dinner in the Feathers Hotel, Aberaeron on November 11th 2008.
On November 18th 2008 Elizabeth Murphy was awarded a fellowship by the Aberystwyth branch in recognition of her exemplary charitable work in the county.

It is always a great boost when organisations and establishment choose to back the charity and we are delighted that both Penrhos Golf Club, Llanrhystud and the Falcolndale Hotel, Lampeter have named the Beacon of Hope as their charity of the year for 2009 and will be holding fundraising events throughout the year for us.
Hospice at Home News
The Hospice at Home Nursing Team was established in October 2007, initially running as a pilot scheme in conjunction with two GP practices in Ceredigion. The service was subsequently rolled out to provide qualified Palliative Care Nurses to all residents of Ceredigion and immediate surrounding area in January 2008.
The service is registered with Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales and works in partnership with the Hywel Dda NHS Trust and the Local Health Board.
Over the last year the service has supplied up to 100 hours of nursing care on a weekly basis offering day and night nursing for those requiring end of life care at home. The team consists of 18 nurses, 16 working on a Bank Nurse basis, and The Beacon of Hope is committed to offering excellent training and support for its staff and a continuingly improved end of life care service to the people in this part of Wales.
