Hospice and Palliative Care Service in Mid Wales
The Beacon of Hope is a registered charity providing immediate comfort and on going practical and nursing support to people with terminal and life limiting illness in Ceredigion.
Our dedicated staff and volunteers work in the community out of offices in Aberystwyth and Cardigan and aim to enable people to live the best quality of life in the time they have left.
Elizabeth Murphy, founded the Beacon of Hope Charity in 2000. In HM the Queen’s birthday honours list 2008, Elizabeth was awarded the MBE in recognition of her services to the community.
We provide
- A Hospice at Home service offering trained nurses to support terminally ill people at home
- A volunteer sitting service providing respite for carers
- Practical and financial help
- Meeting rooms and relaxation areas for users, carers and volunteers
